Well I guess I am getting old. As you have probably read below, I was involved in a low speed crash on Saturday, January 6, 2007. A great way to start the New Year…….Not.
It really is true that the older you get; the longer it takes to recover. I have been hobbling around in pain now for almost two weeks. My foot feels like it is getting better but my hamstring is taking a bit longer to heal. The back of my leg is still black and blue from the tear of the muscle.
If any of you have suffered a hamstring tear you will know that it is a pain does not go away no matter what position you are in. Sitting in a chair is the worst, and walking is agony. To add insult to injury, we are suffering from a record cold spell here in Southern California. The cold just makes the pain that much worse.
I have represented many bikers who have suffered injuries that make mine look like a joke. However, pain is pain!
I implore every biker out there to be careful out there on the road. I know when I get back in the saddle; I will be taking it real easy.
Wishing you a speedy recovery. You are right you are lucky. Remember Gerald Morelock and many others who we hope are RIP.
OUCH! Hopefully the cold will go away soon. This is nutz!
I have been in the same situation, except with a back spasm. it seemed like I couldn’t do anything that didn’t aggravate the injury, even sitting still.
I have been paranoid about the below freezing temps up here in the Bay Area, I ride normally in a straight line, but slow way down for corners. Take it easy and don’t push yourself. It is better to take it slow than hurt yourself again.
It has never been this cold in California. I have lived here my entire life except for my time in the Air Force, and away here and there on business.
I have lived in the Bay Area too. This weather is unreal. I am wondering if this is Global Warming or what?
