FOR ME THE BEST MOTORCYCLE RIDES ARE UNPLANNED AND SPUR OF THE MOMENT!

Norman Gregory Fernandez Riding on in CanyonI have taken God knows how many road trips on my motorcycle throughout my lifetime. Some were planned, and some were not. I have been contemplating in my mind how I’m going to write articles about the motorcycle road trips I’ve done in the past, and the motorcycle trips that are to come.

I have read some motorcycle ride reports which are highly detailed down to the exact interstate roads that were taken, the stops that were made along the way, and other detailed information. I have decided that I am not going to write my motorcycle ride reports in this manner. At least for me, those types of motorcycle ride reports are boring.

Instead, I am going to write my motorcycle ride reports in a general manner, and give enough information about the motorcycle rides and road trips I’ve taken so that you can get the gist of the trip, and be a little bit entertained at the same time.

During my inner contemplation about how I am going to write this section of the Blog, I have thought about a lot of the road trips I’ve taken, and some of the craziness that was involved in some of those trips. I have decided to be true myself and tell it like it is, and/or was; the way I experienced it. In my opinion, that is the only way to really write a true motorcycle ride report that somebody would want to read.

With that being said, look for my future motorcycle ride reports that are to come. Some of my reports will be about past rides, and some of my ride reports will be about future rides.

Just to give you a little taste of my own experiences, I will say this; for me the best motorcycle rides are unplanned and spur of the moment! Yes it is exciting to know that you are about to ride to a motorcycle event. Yes it is exciting to plan a motorcycle trip that is about to come. However, and at least for me, the best trips I have ever taken in my entire life, were the ones that were spur of the moment trips.

Obviously, there is something to be said about planning motorcycle road trips, however part of being a biker is all about being free. I have found that during many of my road trips, trying to follow a set schedule on a motorcycle road trip was a real hassle. One of my favorite biker sayings is; “it’s not where you’re going, it’s the ride that counts.” Everyone that knows me knows that I say this all the time.

With that being said, I will go into my mind, and try to pick out some of the best trips I’ve taken, and put them on paper for you to read and to enjoy.

For now, keep both wheels on the road!
