Sorry to hear about this Antoinette. Obviously you are the victim of a crime, i.e. hit and run. They guy on the motorcycle is bottom line a criminal. Unfortunately these types of crimes and incidents are perpetrated by all types of people. It just so happens that this guy was on a motorcycle. A criminal is a criminal no matter what they ride.

I am surprised he was able to just take off after plowing into you. Usually motorcycle accidents leave the rider unable to ride or use their motorcycle.

You should report this incident to the police as a hit and run and then do what you have to do with your insurance company. They may cover it via you uninsured motorist policy rather than Comp and Coll so you do not have to worry about the deductible.

Good Luck,
First of all, let me say that I do not have an issue with bikers or motorcycles.
The Sunday after Thanksgiving, I was sitting at a stop light when a group of riders came through and it was necessary for a couple of the bikers to stop traffic so that all the riders could continue through the traffic signal as a group. I found this to be ans incredibly beautiful sight to see. Later that afternoon while passing by Cooks Corner a rider left the bar, failed to stop at a stop sign (I didn't have one) and plowed righyt into me and as if that wasn't bad enough, he backed his bike up and took off. At least 50 people (bikers) witnessed this, but no one would provide there name or other info and of course everyone claimed that they didn't know the guy who hit me. So, now I am out the $$ to fix my car or at least the $500 deductable and this has to go on my insurance as there was about $1700 worth of damage to my vehicle. The guy reeked of alcohol and that is probably one reasone he took off, never the less...as much as I love motorcycles and don't have an issue with riders and have always shown the utmost respect for a rider on the road...I am angry and frustrated that this guy took off and no one who witnessed this would provide any contac information as a witness. I guess I just needed to vent and give another perspective on why one guy can tarnish the reputations of other bikers out there.
Thank you for listening, Antoinette
