Why do I have the feeling he was on a sportbike? And why do they have to determine if charges will be filed?

I wish him a speedy recovery as well. The attorney fees, countermeasures, probation fees, court costs, getting to attend court ordered AA Meetings, big fine, insurance costs hit the ceiling….hopefully he will learn a lesson. It is hard to believe that some folks have no regard for their own life and even less for other folks on the road. It is hard to feel sympathy for someone so foolish.

He’ll probably have to go toa high school and give a say no to drugs speech sign autographs and no charges filed because he’s a football player.

Gixxer in the State of Florida that would not happen. Our Judges have what is called “minimum and maximum” sentencing guidelines for DUI’s. They have them for 1st offenders on up to more offenses. Lawyers can only do so much if your are guilty. Even a Ellis Rubin, F. Lee Bailey, Mark Geragoes or Gerry Spence retainer will not guarantee you anything. I am like you, why the wait on charges? You or me would have already taken the ride in the backseat of the police car!!!

Well,we have a very good example of someone here in sunny but cold Florida, rich and famous who spent over a cool million on lawyers. That would be Billy Lane. He is at Avon Park Work Camp doing mechanic work on the county automobiles for the next 6 years.

I disagree I’ve known of Sheriff’s here who were dwi/dui involved in a crash and never spent one day in jail. One Sheriff had to write an apology letter to victim and paid under $500.00 in court cost, plea bargained, and received adjudication withheld. I believe he’s still a Deputy. Rich and powerful people are often penalized differently than the regular people. I don’t won’t to post a link but I’m sure google will pull it up.
