Sorry about the term Carla :) It is an old time biker term going back to the 60's. I am not a sexist but sometimes I tend to use the phrases of the biker world. As you can see from my articles I promote women riding motorcycles. I must admit, I would probably laugh if I saw a guy on the back of a motorcycle being driven buy a gal. It's a man thing if you know what I mean!

Ack! You’ve got a great blog here, but that phrase “sitting bitch” makes me cringe. I know “riding pillion” doesn’t have the same ring to it, but… oh well. I’ve actually had guys sitting pillion on rides, mostly small trips across town or something, but once on a spontaneous, week-long tour.
I interviewed a woman I met while I was touring the USA. She was a brand new rider setting off on a long journey and in the first days became overwhelmed at the perceptions coming at her of women and motorcycling. The interview is published online.
