VETERANS DAY; A SALUTE TO THE VETERANS OF ALL AMERICAN WARS.

Veterans Day

After the end of World War I, the United States Congress enacted legislation which created Armistice Day as a tribute to all American veterans of World War I.

After World War II, and the Korean War, the United States Congress changed Armistice Day to Veterans Day to honor all American war veterans.

Many people may think that Veterans Day is just another holiday that gives you a three day weekend and bargains at the shopping mall. You are mistaken.

If it were not for the brave veterans of all American wars, including the men and women that are serving right now in Iraq and Afghanistan, the United States of America would not exist. This day is to honor those men and women of past and present conflicts that fought and/or died so that we may be free as a nation.

Take a little bit of time out of your busy schedule today to remember those brave souls who fought and/or died so that you and your family can be free and enjoy the lives that you have today. Think of those brave souls fighting right now in Iraq and Afghanistan. Teach your children about Veterans Day.

May God bless the veterans of all American wars, both past and present, because they have blessed us with freedom by their service.
