A Video Taken by Me While Riding my Harley Davidson Electra Glide Motorcycle on Pacific Coast Highway.

I went motorcycle riding yesterday with some of my brothers and a friend. My friend and I split off later and went to the Rock Store, and Neptune’s Net via a really nice twisty route that I know in the Santa Monica Mountains.

I have this new nifty touch screen phone called a Samsung Memoir that has an 8MP camera built in, with video capabilities.

Just for the heck of it, I decided to try out the video camera on the phone while cruising up the coast. I filmed from behind the dashboard of my Harley Davidson Electra Glide while riding. I then uploaded the video to YouTube. For those who have never ridden a Harley Davidson Electra Glide Motorcycle, this video kind of shows what it is like from a first person perspective.

The video came out fantastic, but the YouTube upload kind of sucks. Look at the videos below and tell me what you think.

More to come!

Well Swilly, I basically held my cell phone camera in my left hand, and controlled the motorcycle with my right. I did it in a safe manner.

    Norm,
Great! I loved the videos. My favorite was the quick shot of YOU reflected into the rearview mirror. Thanks for the opportunity to view from the dashboard position. (Usually, I just ride pillion.)

i ride a 2001 Road King Classic & have always wanted to make a video of a ride. how did you manage to film this? were you holding the camera, or was it mounted? (doesn’t appear to be mounted as it moves around quite a bit) i’ve tried mounting a small digital on the front somewhere without much luck. nice vid, nice site…rock on norman!!

It was not me in the rear view mirror, it was my friend Casper who was riding behind me.

The actual video is really good quality. The Youtube upload made it poor quality.

I do appreciate your comments though Nadine :)

My Garmin transmits via FM to the stereo, so yes it is connected to the radio!

*** Correction. In this video my old Garmin was connected to the old Harley Stereo via a cable. My new Garmin and stereo is wireless.

No the Garmin transmits FM with a built in FM transmitter. It is picked up by the stereos FM receiver.
