I recently had to change out another bracket and indeed the new one looks like it is reinforced. On another note, I have swapped out the Harley Davidson Advanced sound system for a Sony Stereo with all of the modern goodies. I weighed to cost v. benefit of changing out a perfectly good system for a better system (not too sure about how the Biketronics Sony stereo works in bad weather). I decided to keep the stock system and go with better speakers.

Now if in the future Bikertronics comes up with a lower cost solution that includes a built in SD card or mini hard disk for my entire music collection, then I may re-evaluate my decision.

For now, the stock Harley Davidson advanced sound system with the Hogtunes speakers is sufficient.
